Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) a wonderful setting for a Stay Northumbria self catering holiday
2008 saw the 50th Anniversary of the Northumberland Coast being designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and within this area the Northumberland Coastal Path offers a number of varying walks for the holiday maker to try.
The 64 mile Coastal Path from Berwick to Cresswell is split to create a series of 8 different walks including a visit to the Farne Islands as well as the gardens at Howick Hall and the National Trust Nature reserves.
During the year a number of events have been organised - painting workshops, local history and flower walks, as well as ‘seashore safaris”.
Building on last year’s “drop in” birdwatching seminars these have been extended to cover marine life, geology, grassland and flowers.
Many people and organisations are running events this year so check out www.northumberlandcoastaonb.org or call 01670 533039.
