Sealife off Northumberland

.

Seahouses gateway to the Farne Islands - a Stay Northumbria holiday cottage, house or apartment is a great base from which to explore

Of the estimated 3-4000 seals, large numbers can be seen basking on the Islands at low water and over a thousand seal pups are born each Autumn. If the weather is still fine in October and November and the seas are favourable boat trips are run to the Farnes and back from Seahouses Harbour.

Our friend Ben Burville dives regularly with the seals and his videos are testiment to the rapport which can be built with these beautiful creatures in their own habitat.
