At Stay Northumbria we don't just know our business, we live it.

Neil and I have lived in the North East forever - Tyneside initially, - Neil was born there and I moved to the area in the early '60s. Our families have holidayed in self catering holiday cottages on the North Northumberland Coast all that time, and we've had our own holiday cottage in Seahouses since the early '90s.

We moved here permanently in 2001 , a bit like Victor Kiam - we loved our holiday house so much we moved into it, and yes we did rent it out prior to moving here. I suppose its really how we got into holiday cottage rentals, at first we used a big national agent who couldn't tell our guests what colour the towels were, whether there was a liquidizer and whether your dog was welcome in the pub over the road. So we vowed then, that if we ever went into the holiday rental market we'd do it differently.

We think we do....

Living in the area we love, we firmly believe, gives us a crucial edge on many of our bigger competitors. We know where and what to recommend, what's going on, what's open and when, how to get from A to B and we personally know many of the people running the local businesses you'll be using during your stay. They have a similar ethos to ours, what the customer wants we will do our level best to provide.

A number of the self catering holiday cottages  on these web pages, we actually own, some we fully manage and to others we provide a letting only service. So, whilst each property has to meet our exacting standards of cleanliness and quality, some of the facilities offered may vary property to property.  You are invited to check out the facilities, what's included, and what can be arranged sections on each listing, or if you have further questions we'd be pleased to help you by phone or email and we hope that the photographs provided will give you a fair idea of what each of the self catering holiday cottages, houses and apartments offers.

We can also provide additional services in some of our properties and these will be itemised on the "What can be arranged" section of the listing. So if you want a room decorated for a celebration of some sort, or a real Christmas Tree, a special hamper of food, some leisure activities booked, or your dog looked after for a couple of hours while you're on a boat trip, we will be happy to provide these services where applicable but some charges may apply.

Our staff who will handle your booking and paperwork have visited every holiday cottage you will see on these pages. It may sound far fetched but they've looked in the drawers, the cupboards and behind the shower curtain to see what makes each house tick and can usually readily answer your questions as to whether property A or B best suits your needs.

Our staff live here too and, like us, are proud of the area and what it has to offer. We are all eager to help visitors enjoy this very special place...and to welcome you on a return visit...the area's charms are infectious, you never know, like us, you might just decide to stay longer so holiday home or permanent house search is something we can help with too.
