Fairhaugh does accept bookings 1st October to 1st April, however because of its remote location access to the property is often affected by the weather during this period.
If you are interested in booking the cottage during this time frame please be aware that it is often best to book at the last minute (within 7 days of arrival), If you telephone us we can obtain an access report prior to you booking. Or if booking in advance we advise you to ensure that your holiday insurance covers cancellation due to adverse weather conditions. The owners and agent will accept no responsibility for your access to and from the cottage in bad weather. Note there is no telephone/internet at the property and the nearest mobile signal is 2 miles away.
Fairhaugh is a complete retreat, the property has been modernised and tho it has no electricity, incorporates wall mounted gas lighting, gas fridge, gas cooker, wood burning stove which heats the property and hot water. It is remote in the heart of the Northumberland National Park is ideal for walkers, those that like fishing as it has fishing rights over its own stretch of Usway Burn. Sleeps 8 in double rooms and a 4 person bunk room, each has its own wash basin, there is one family bathroom upstairs. Well behaved dogs are welcome, however this is deer country and they must be under control at all times.

Set in its own grounds The Old Vicarage is a large detached property sleeping 8-10 people in 5 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms (1 is ensuite). The property accepts families (child age restrictions apply, see notes) and offers wonderful accommodation in large rooms. There is a large kitchen, with huge utility boot room off - ideal for drying off the outdoor gear, a large drawing room with open fire, 48" TV with Freeview, Piano, and library of books and countryside magazine collection. A formal dining room, the "vicar's snug" acts as another TV room or reading room. There is a downstairs cloak room.
