At Stay Northumbria we don't just know our business, we live it. The principals and staff have all worked and lived in the area for over 10 years, and together the team has over 60 years in the travel and tourism industry, so when it comes to holiday properties we really know our stuff.
As a comparatively new company having been established in 2005, Stay Northumbria offers a professional personal service dedicated to owners and guests.
Living in the area we love, we firmly believe, gives us a crucial edge on many of our competitors. We know where and what to recommend, what's going on, what's open and when, how to get from A to B and many of the people running the local businesses you and your guests need to be in touch, have a similar ethos to ours, what the customer wants we will do our level best to provide.

The service that we offer our owners is nothing if not flexible. Whether you require a letting only service to handle bookings, administration & finance, or require us to run and fully manage your property for you too, that's great by us.
It is after all your property and how you wish to use it or run it is entirely up to you. We don't demand xx number of weeks at peak time, we don't charge you commissions on weeks that you use yourself. We don't even mind if you want to do a few friends and family lets in the property yourselves as well, although if you use another commercial agent our fees will be slightly higher to cover liaison costs, but we're happy to provide this service too.
When you choose Stay Northumbria to look after your business, we make sure we know your property - intimately - Before we market your property, everyone who works for us, who liaises with potential guests, will have visited your property, they'll have looked in your cupboards, drawers and behind the shower curtain to find out just what makes your house tick.
So we can be confident, that when a customer throws a "curved ball question", our staff can confidently provide an answer....and believe me people ask the strangest things!
Both the principals of Stay Northumbria are from a marketing background, some 55 years experience in all in marketing. In addition to this website and its promotion, we regularly undertake PR activity not only on behalf of the company but on individual properties as well.
You will find us regularly in Country Living Magazine, Coast Magazine, and Sainsbury's Magazine. We have close working relations with media such as Dogs Monthly and Birdwatching Magazine, and run reader offers and competitions in national magazines.
Our owners have a dedicated RSS feed to bring them up to the minute marketing opportunities, changes in legislation and helpful industry information. Past guests can also link into an RSS feed to keep up to date with special offers
There will be a lot of work done during 2011 on social networking media and our blog will be launched early in the year.
If you are currently considering looking for a holiday home that you may wish to rent out occasionally when you aren't using it, or looking for an investment portfolio, we can help you source properties, run refurbishment projects for you, liaise with trades, work with interior designers and generally help ready the property for the market.
Not every property is for us, our portfolio is growing with properties which are quite diverse. We don't take on numbers of properties offering the same thing, we do look for something unique, a property which reflects the character of the owner, which offers something different, is located in a great position, or appeals to a different market for some reason.
Running a holiday rental does require some elementary legal procedures. Fire Risk Assessments, Accessibility Statements, Gas and electrical appliance testing and certification, public liability insurances are just a few items to consider. We can guide you around the letting requirements and help you with some of the optional extras like getting your Tourist Industry accreditation (The hotel inspectors equivalent for self-catering) and other industry awards.
