Seahouses Harbour PowderhouseOnly 50 yards outside the courtyard and you are on the top of the harbour wall, where seating is provided so you can while away the hours watching the toings and froings of harbour life, or stretch your legs on the beautiful beaches which run North and South and are ideal for leisurely walks, or for those more adventurous try the 6 mile return beach walk to Bamburgh, or the 14 mile return journey to Newton by the Sea (great pub awaits for the mid walk break).
The cottage is close to all the village amenities - shops, butchers, bakers (no candlestick maker tho), pubs & restaurants, newsagents, petrol station, library, resource centre for internet access, takeaways, and the harbour where you can leave on excursions to visit the Farne Islands, to see Puffins (June & July), Grey Seals and many other species of birds. The area is popular with birdwatchers and photographers.
Just 2.5 miles up the coast by road is Bamburgh and its wonderful castle on a rocky outcrop overlooking the beach, and 15 miles south you'll find Alnwick Castle and Garden a popular spot for those with green fingers, and Harry Potter fans (the castle was Hogwarts and the site of the quiddich pitch in the 1st two films).

"Lovely cottage, home from home, catered for all our needs. Loved the provision of milk, coffee etc for a much-needed brew! Going for a wet and windy walk with dog who loved his treats! Our second time in No2 and won't be our last - brilliant!"

    The Hiltons - Nov 2016

"Excellent, neat and well-equipped cottage. Snug, cosy, ideal for 2. Lovely location at the heart of the town and the harbour with easy access to coastal walks and great place from which to explore further afield, both up and down the coast and inland. Thank you, I'm sure we will be back!"

    The Dowlings - Oct 2016

"Delighted with the accommodation, clean and tidy. Good base for the attractions in the area. Close to all facilities in the village. Beautiful place, would definitely recommend to friends."

Peter and Paddy - Sep 2016

"First time we have been to Northumberland and Seahouses - a really lovely harbour and great for bird watching! Seeing the puffins was the highlight of our trip - they are great! Thanks for a lovely stay and the cottage had everything we needed."

    The Childs - Jul 2016

"Our second stay at this cottage, and once again it was perfect, everything you could need is available in the cottage. We have enjoyed ourselves very much and are very sad to be leaving."

    The Driscolls - Jul 2016

"After our week exploring an area new to us, we can say most definitely that this was a perfect location. Many thanks for a lovely, clean delightful little cottage and your attention to detail and the welcome hospitality tray. Sorry to be leaving but taking home lots of happy memories and photographs to prove it. Many thanks for being a major part of our experience."

    The Billingtons - Jun 2016

"We have really enjoyed our stay here. The weather has been very good. This is our 2nd holiday in Northumberland. It is a lovely county, the scenery, the beaches. We shall certainly be back. Thank you for the muffins, milk etc. We are glad we chose to stay at this cottage."

    The Brittains - May 2016

"Really lovely cottage, situated in a great spot. Had a great break and visited loads of places. May be back again soon."

    The Mitchells - Apr 2016

"Booked as a last minute break. Cottage is in a brilliant position. Very cosy and well equipped. Stairs are a bit daunting especially in the middle of the night. Lovely place, plenty fo walks if you are feeling energetic. Never been to Northumberland before - it's a beautiful place. Enjoyed our stay and hope to come again."

    The Pickups - Apr 2016

"The cottage was perfect (well equipped). Fell in love with the bedroom even though I kept hitting my head on the beam. If I were to say a negative it is that there is no light on the stairs and if you get up in the night you have to be very careful coming down the stairs. "

    The Wilsons - Mar 2016

"Had a lovely short break. Nice little cottage that has everything, plus more that we needed whilst on holiday. All the amenities are a short walk away. We will be recommending Cliff House Cottages to family and friends for the future."

    The Batemans - Feb 2016

"Lovely cottage, just as described and photographed. Very well equipped kitchen (not that we did any cooking!). Walked to Bamburgh and back stopping for lunch at The Victoria Hotel - dog friendly in the bar and excellent food. Overall a lovely short break - the weather has been kind and we've been made welcome wherever we've been."

    The Abbotts - Jan 2016

"No2 Cliff House Cottage, lovely, clean, comfy and well equipped - really enjoyed our stay in Northumberland."

Mike and Ada, Scotland - Oct 2015

"Lovely, well-equipped little cottage exactly as expected. Brilliant location and excellent base for walking with our wee border terrier. Loved Northumberland and sad to go. We loved the muffins."

Christine, Allan an Kayleigh the dog - Oct 2015

"We have enjoyed a lovely week here in the cottage. Everything possible was provided and the bed is super comfortable. Very efficient shower. Location great for the town and surrounding area. Beautiful beach walk to Bamburgh. Spotted porpoises near the water's edge. "

Anne and David, Windsor - Sep 2015

"Our first visit to Northumberland. It is so much more beautiful than the pictures we had seen. We walked from Seahouses to Bamburgh and it was a wonderful walk - the views are spectacular from the castle, definitely worth a visit. Really enjoyed staying in Seahouses. The cottage is wonderful and so well equipped. Would love to visit again."

Tsung Mien and Megan, Hong Kong - Sep 2015

Christine, Allan and Muffy the dog - Aug 2015

"Our 3rd visit to dear old 'Number 2' and it's still as good as ever - the bed is so comfortable!"

John and Marguerite - Jul 2015

"This was our first tip to Northumberland. We found the cottage very comfortable, secluded and well equipped - lovely and warm - just right for us visiting Holy Island. We would recommend the cottage to any friends of family that wanted to stay in Northumberland."
