Seahouses HarbourOnly 50 yards outside the courtyard and you are on the top of the harbour wall, where seating is provided so you can while away the hours watching the toings and froings of harbour life, or stretch your legs on the beautiful beaches which run North and South and are ideal for leisurely walks, or for those more adventurous try the 6 mile return beach walk to Bamburgh, or the 14 mile return journey to Newton by the Sea (great pub awaits for the mid walk break).
The cottage is close to all the village amenities - shops, butchers, bakers (no candlestick maker tho), pubs & restaurants, newsagents, petrol station, library, resource centre for internet access, takeaways, and the harbour where you can leave on excursions to visit the Farne Islands, to see Puffins (June & July), Grey Seals and many other species of birds. The area is popular with birdwatchers and photographers.
Just 2.5 miles up the coast by road is Bamburgh and its wonderful castle on a rocky outcrop overlooking the beach, and 15 miles south you'll find Alnwick Castle and Garden a popular spot for those with green fingers, and Harry Potter fans (the castle was Hogwarts and the site of the quiddich pitch in the 1st two films).

"It's not often I write in here but since I left the Army I have always wanted to have Remembrance Sunday here. This year I realised my ambition and to be able to lay a wreath on behalf fo the Royal Engineers is beyond belief. The people here are, as they always are, simply brilliant. We have renewed old friendships and made new ones and we simply cannot wait to come back. It might be a couple of weeks, it might be March but one thing is certain, we will be back. "

    The Wilsons - Nov 2016

"We have enjoyed our visit "again". The cottage is just perfect really, the dog treats and the delicious muffins are a lovely touch too. Thank you to Lisa and the Stay Northumbria team for Chris's birthday present. I can safely say it's been a fantastic holiday - so much so that we coming back in 2 weeks time to spend another week in our "picee of heaven" cottage. We love Seahouses and always go home with a bit of sadness that we have to leave - but it makes coming back that bit more special."

    The Wilsons - Oct 2016

"Here we are back again for the 26th year, in this lovely quiet corner of Seahouses. Although we have not got our own transport we manage to get around on public transport to this beautiful part of Northumberland. The beaches and cliff top walks are breathtaking and the cottage is absolutely perfect with everything we need to make our annual trip memorable, and this year the weather has been perfect. Many thanks to all concerned for making us feel that our stay is home from home, in fact it's better!"

    The Moons - Sep 2016

"First time to Northumberland and definitely will be back. Travelled up and down the coast from Berwick upon Tweed to Alnmouth and loved every minute. Some lovely villages. Seahouses nice and friendly and has everything you need. Cottage excellent and very convenient for everything, also well equipped. "
