    Goldcrest Cottage is situated in the small village of Fenwick, a peaceful haven yet has easy access to all amenities and the coast. Originally part of the Duke of Northumberland's Estate, the cottage has been extended and refurbished to a very high standard with good quality furnishings and furniture, providing a quality holiday retreat. At the end of each daysightseeing, return to Goldcrest Cottage to relax in the garden and, weather permitting, enjoy a BBQ, away from noise, traffic and the hectic pace of modern life.The property has attained 4 Star Gold Award status from Visit England.

    • Short breaks are accepted at this property and the owner can be flexible on start days at certain times of the year.
    From the Cottage:
    • A five minute drive takes you to the Holy Island causeway which you can drive across, subject to safe crossing times, to sample the unique quality of the Island and visit Lindisfarne Castle, the Winery, Lindisfarne Priory and Gertrude Jekyll Garden.
    • Drive fifteen minutes to the north to visit historic Berwick-upon-Tweed with its famous bridges, castle walls and ramparts. Alternatively,
    • Fifteen minutes to the south is Bamburgh Castle and its truly spectacular beach, where you could sample one of the coastal walks,
      • Golfers try out their outstanding links golf course or
      • Relax in the village pubs and cafes.
    • There are numerous visitor attractions within a 30 minute drive of Goldcrest Cottage and a trip to Northumberland would not be complete without visiting the market town of Alnwick with the historic Alnwick Castle and the beautiful Alnwick Garden.
    • Travel inland to the pretty villages of Ford or Etal and the main market town of Wooler
    • Access the spectacular hill walking country in the Cheviot Hills and its quiet valley walks less than half an hour's drive.

    Travel and Access information:


    • Alnmouth for Alnwick station is approx 25 miles south - a mainline station on the North East Coastal line with regular stops from London to Edinburgh
    • Berwick upon Tweed approx 15 miles north - a mainline station on the North East Coastal line with regular stops from London to Edinburgh


    • Buses run by Arriva and Travelsure - the X15 and the X18 services run north and south along the coast from Berwick to Newcastle


    • Newcastle International is approx 50 miles south,
    • Edinburgh Airport is approx 90 miles north
    • Both airports have daily internal flights from a number of UK locations, and international flights on a regular basis.
