Reviews

Very clean and well-equipped cottage. Lovely log fire made the place feel cosy. Garden perfect for dogs. Welcoming feel allowed us to switch off and unwind. We had a lovely stay over Easter.

Mrs M,

Spent Christmas 2023 here with the family; 5 &2 dogs. Would return. Amazing cottage. Warm, comfortable with a wood burner. Kitchen is really big with good appliances and table for 6 people. Has a dishwasher, washer/dryer, single oven and microwave. Lots of pots and pans but needs new chopping boards and oven cooking trays. Did dishwasher all of the crockery before using it as needed a good clean. No oven gloves though so had to use the tea towel instead. Has an enclosed garden that can do with some work and tidying but still ok. 3 bedrooms. Both upstairs bedrooms could do with replacing a mattress in each as you sink in the middle so not really the comfortable. Both bathrooms had been cleaned so no black mould. Has an Illy coffee machine so took some pods with us to use. Cottage didn’t have anywhere to hang coats up so some hooks on the back of the bedroom doors would be useful. Overall a really good cottage, clean, tidy and not a lot of broken items which you find in some places. Great location as had 2 beaches within walking distance and shops in seahouses for essentials if needed. Would stay again as so quiet and peaceful.

Mrs T,

Excellent location with marvellous views of the sea. Access the beach a few steps from the house. Quiet road. Spacious rooms, 2 bathrooms, lovely bedding, well equipped kitchen. 5 minutes walk from shop and chip van.10 minutes walk from pubs and cafes.Needs redecorating in high traffic areas and sofas need a deep clean. We had a lovely week in Beadnell and would use this property again. We had an issue with a leaking ubend under the kitchen sink and I called original cottages local number and someone came out to fix it the same day.

Ms T,

We loved our time at Beadnell Bay, the location of the cottage was fantastic. We arrived early evening and the welcome pack was well received but the cottage was absolutely freezing! It soon warmed up after sorting the central heating out and luckily we never had to use the log burner, however the the draft through the front door was as constant! The big kitchen diner was amazing and the downstairs bathroom was was clean and modern. We slept in the front bedroom as this was made up as the double and the view was amazing looking over the beach. However the venetian blinds were broken and didn’t close properly, so we were woken up as soon as it got light !! The other bedroom which was set up as a twin, was lovely fresh and bright. The upstairs bathroom however was very disappointing and and totally let the look and the value of the cottage down. There was black mould on the ceiling, flaking paint and the bath panel was cracked. The toilet, sink and shower were very clean but the skirting boards were filthy. We would definitely return to Topcliff as we had a brilliant time, we just thought the place could do with a fresh lick of paint and some areas a deep clean.

Mr Nigel H,

Everything was as described and all information sent was first class. The upstairs bathroom could do with some attention but apart from that the property was very good and in an excellent position.

Mrs Jacqui W,

Topcliffe is in a lovely location, the property was warm and had all the basics you would expect from a holiday cottage. The disappointing thing was the tiredness of the interior it really needs a good lick of paint to freshen it up and the bathroom upstairs needs redecorating , black mould around the bath removed and bath panel replacing. Overall I would give the house an 8 out of 10

Mrs Penny A,

Ideal property for exploring Northumberland, with all the creature comforts once you return, along with spectacular views.

Mr James D,

On arrival the cottage was really cold (we had to keep our coats of for 2 hours and there were no logs for the fire (it said they were provided. We think the heating was off (but I had an email which said it is set for 10 degrees (which is not warm on arrival and so makes no difference. Also the microwave didnt work. I contacted the management company and they rectified the next day with a replacement microwave and logs and kindling. But as we were only staying for 3 nights the first night was ruined by the coldness of the house. Once warm it was lovely and well equiped. Great location

Mrs Pamela S,
