Testimonials
Most of our visitors take a few moments to write in our visitor books about their stay with us and what they have done while they were here.
The entries on this page and on the testimonials section of each cottage listing are real extracts from those books. You will see that we have many returning visitors and many who refer us to their friends and families.
We hope you enjoy reading about the many and varied things our visitors found to do while they were with us and that their comments about the cottages and the facilities in them will be useful to you.
No2 Cliff House Cottage
02 Jan 2012 The perfect place to start 2012!
The cottage has been warm and cosy and the perfect base for visiting Dunstanburgh Castle, Holy Island and walking the beach to Bamburgh.
The pint of milk was gratefully received when we arrived and the extra bits and pieces made it home from home.
We'll definitely recommend the cottage to friends and hope to return one day.
No3 Cliff House Cottages
25 Sep 2010 Not our first time to Seahouses, but our first time at these cottages, but not our last. Very clean and tidy, very comfortable, real pleaseat and restful. I can go home now with batteries re-charged. Weather very kind to us for first 4 days then very windy and wet but did not deter us from doing what we wanted. Tigger loved his walks on the cliff tops and says thanks for the doggy pack. Once again thanks for the pleasant stay and we "shall return".
No4 Cliff House Cottages
21 Aug 2010 Once again here for the 22nd year and have had a lovely time.
Cottage as always is lovely, warm and welcoming.
Thanks to Jackie, Neil and Sue and the rest of the staff for making our holiday very stress free the small details i.e. welcome pack and other small things make it personal.
The weather has been good and has allowed us to enjoy the beautiful country and coast line in and around Seahouses.
Hopefully we will be back again next year.
Many thanks to all concerned.
No6 Cliff House Cottages
21 May 2012 This is our first visit to Northumbria we have really enjoyed our stay. Cottage well equipped and comfortable, found the welcome pack very enjoyable - jam & cream swiss roll, bread, milk etc. Also Charlie's treats she enjoyed them too. It's the first time she has been away with us and she just loved it, all the lovely walks on the beaches. We will be back sometime soon.
Stables @ Westfield
27 Jul 2012 We thought we'd let you know that we very much enjoyed our holiday at The Stables@Westfield.
The lovely converted stable was extremely comfortable, light and airy and stocked with everything you could think of. It was perfectly located and Carolyn Gregory, the owner, was very helpful and friendly. We were absolutely delighted with our stay and would highly recommend it.
We weren't sure how to add this comment to your visitor book so please could you do this for us?
Many thanks.
Best wishes,
Kathy and Clive
Kipper Cottage
07 Aug 2010 Thank you so much for letting us stay at Kipper cottage for the 2nd time. It was just as excellent as before. Enjoyed the walk to Bamburgh along the beach. Went to Alnwick Castle again. The Serpent garden was AMAZING !! All the water sculptures were spectacular to look at. we recommend Cragside because it's really interesting for adults and children. Also for horse lovers Slate Hall Riding School for confident riders or begginers.
We had a lovely stay hope we come back soon.

Lovely coastline, although weather really cold, bright and invigorating.
Lots of good eating places would recommend Blacketts in Bamburgh for a lovely, leisurely lunch.
We will be back.

Penthouse Apt (5* Gold award)
04 Aug 2012 This is our first time staying in Northumberland. We enjoyed the apartment and thought the area was excelleny.
We have visited:-
- Bamburgh - we walked across the beach from Seahouses to Bamburgh Castle. The walk is about 6 miles round trip. The Clock Tower tea room at Bamburgh Castle was amazing - especially the Ploughmans. The Castle is definitely worth a visit.
- Holy Island - Which is very pretty and does nice seafood.
- Farne Island boat trip - This is great and very informative. We saw lots birds and seals close up. We went with Serenity boat tours which were very very good.
- Embleton Bay - The beach is really nice and the Golf Club near by does refreshments and has parking.
- Craster - Pretty and has a nice harbour.
- Alnwick Castle - Definitely worth a visiting to avoid huge, huge queues you have to get there at 10am when it opens. One day isn't long enough to see both castle and gardens but once you pay you can go back again free for a year. The castle is brilliant for children and Harry Potter fans! They have broomstick flying lessons which are a good laugh for all the family.
- The Copper Kettle tea room in Bamburgh is very nice.
We would definitely visit again.

A truly excellent week thank you
The cottage was perfect, very well equipped and comfortable loved the log burning fire which we did light on two nights
Perfect flooring for the dog didn’t show any foot prints at all, but then we had sunshine all week so were very lucky with the weather.
We will certainly be booking this cottage again in 2014 for the end of May bank holiday week
Loved the area, excellent pub next door, lots still to explore
Thank you

The Old Vicarage
16 Apr 2011 From the road the house looks very imposing. The grounds were neat and tidily kept. The interior of the house was spectacular. All the rooms were spacious and gave the children total freedom. The snug was very cosy. Thank you for the food supply we received on arrival. It was much appreciated. The surrounding countryside and coastline is glorious. I would certainly return to this beautiful home and lovely village.
