This romantic, historic apartment is only metres from Alnwick Castle, with absolutely stunning views from the lounge and bedroom of the Barbican, the turrets and the famous statues featured in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone where the Quidditch lessons took place.  It is a perfect retreat for two and ideally placed for exploring the town, the castle and, indeed, the whole of Northumberland.  Just a few minutes' walk into the centre of town, everything is on the doorstep, yet because it is not on the main streets, the apartment is very quiet and peaceful.

Castle Retreat is in the most stunning location for experiencing the very best of what Alnwick has to offer. Alnwick Castle is literally just across the street, and The Alnwick Garden is just a few minutes away.  The famous Barter Books is a 10 to 15 minute stroll on the other side of the town centre.  Alnwick is a perfect central hub for exploring Northumberland. Bamburgh Castle, Cragside House and Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle, Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland Heritage Coast and Northumberland National Park are all easily accessible by car.

Accommodation on one level - Second Floor via steps

Spacious lounge and dining area boasts an original style window and built-in window seat as the walls are so thick and has retained the original wooden beams.  A wood-burning effect electric stove is provided on a slate hearth for extra ambience.  Contemporary glass dining table with plush luxury velvet chairs.  Large wall-mounted Smart TV and Blu-Ray player, Wi-Fi and a selection of books and board games.

Bedroom - King-size bed which boasts stunning views of the castle's barbican, a window seat from which to watch the world go by, large wall-mounted Smart TV.  Bathrobes are available upon request.  

Shower room with large walk-in frameless glass shower, wash basin with waterfall tap, WC and a heated towel rail.  Luxury complimentary toiletries are also provided.

Please note that, as they are in the same building, Barbican View and Castle Retreat can be booked together for couples holidaying together or for extended families who require extra space.
