Just a few minutes from the A1 in a quiet location, Aidanfield Cottage is located adjacent to the owners' house on the edge of the hamlet of Fenwick, near Holy Island. This first floor studio apartment, with separate kitchen and bathroom, provides spacious accommodation for up to 2 people and has great views over fields towards Holy Island. 

Situated just up the coast from the Farne Islands and only five minutes drive to Holy Island causeway - subject to the safe Holy Island Crossing Times - Aidanfield Cottage is well placed to visit the many coastal delights of this part of Northumberland.

St Cuthbert's Way, a 62-mile walk, passes through Fenwick and onto Holy Island. Why not try the last leg from Aidanfield Cottage and within 10 minutes you could be on the beach at Cheswick, or 20 minutes to Bamburgh - follow the Pilgrims' Route across to Holy Island where, on arrival, you will have earned the relaxing refreshment and unique atmosphere that awaits you.

Close at hand westward is Ford and Etal Estate with nursery garden, art gallery, fishing, working mill, coffee, gift and local produce shop also a replica Stone Age Henge or for a little more recent history visit the site of the famous Flodden battle site? On a sunny day sit out and enjoy a drink in the beer garden at Northumberland's only Thatched Pub - The Black Bull at Etal, all within 20 minutes drive.

With easy access from the A1, bike, catch a bus or drive to Aidanfield Cottage.

Bringing your Dog on Holiday

Aidanfield Cottage welcomes well behaved dogs (up to 2). There is a charge of £25.00 per dog per week or part thereof. When you book you will be asked to provide some information about your pet which will aide the owner in ensuring that the property is set up to welcome them.

The owner provides a dog crate (up to Labrador size) free of charge should you require it, please state at time of booking.

A bit of K9 etiquette should be observed during your stay:-

  • Your pet should not be left in the property unattended (unless crated)
  • Your pet should not be allowed on furniture
  • On booking for your pet, you are confirming that it is fully up to date on its flea treatment
  • Detachable stair gate can be fitted at the top of the stairs

  • Bamburgh Castle sits atop rocky outcrop overlooking the beach,
  • 20 miles south Alnwick Castle and Garden a popular spot for those with green fingers, and Harry Potter fans (the castle was Hogwarts and the site of the quiddich pitch in the 1st two films
