Description
1 The Maltings is a superb ground floor apartment, part of a grade II Listed building, a former mill and malting dating back to Norman times. This impressive stylish apartment is situated in a stunning location on the edge of Budle Bay with extraordinary sea views across the bay towards Holy Island and when the tide is in the surf is only feet away. This stretch of the Heritage coastline has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a haven for many varieties of migrating birds. The tidal mudflats and salt marshes of the bay provide an abundant food supply for the birds, some of which travel thousands of miles to breed before departing to their winter homes making this an ideal base for bird watchers. Holy Island, which can only be reached at low tide by the causeway is a short drive. Bamburgh Castle, beach and village are about 2 miles to the south by road or a little further by a coastal footpath. This quaint village offers pubs, restaurants, museum and local shops.
