Description
This semi-detached stone, former fisherman's cottage has been completely refurbished to create an immaculately presented, romantic cottage just a stone's throw from the sea. The cottage is a perfect retreat to chill out and admire the stunning sea views or to take a casual stroll along the sandy beach. Boulmer has virtually remained unchanged for 100 years and is one of the few true fishing villages left along the Northumbrian coast. The distinctive blue fishing boats, known as cobles are used to catch crabs, lobster and sea salmon. Keen cyclists may be interested to know the 200 miles coast and castle cycle route between Edinburgh and Newcastle passes through the village. The quiet, gently undulating roads and lanes around the cottage are perfect for a family bike ride. A short journey by car is the historic market town of Alnwick made famous by the magnificent castle and the beautiful gardens created by the Duchess of Northumberland. Alnwick has a wide range of amenities including cafes, gift shops, a weekly market, a leisure centre and supermarkets. Golfing, fishing, sailing, diving and horse riding are available locally.
