Ocean Club Seahouses Membership

A pebble's throw away from the shoreline and overlooking the quayside in the traditional fishing village of Seahouses is Harbourside, a three bedroomed former fisherman's cottage. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Harbourside is a short stroll from the village's many amenities, including the members only Ocean Leisure Club. Harbourside guests can enjoy exclusive access to this fitness and health centre at a special rate. The cottage offers unparalleled seascape views and is just minutes away from the pier where colourful party boats venture to the Farne Islands and Longstone Lighthouse. The cottage has been lovingly restored and has every modern facility yet its historical fishing past has been retained. Harbourside provides an ideal base for exploring this wonderful area, miles of sandy beaches, castles galore, acclaimed gardens, rugged countryside and world heritage locations are all within easy reach. Other activities in the area include fishing, sailing, diving, horse riding, and excellent golf courses.

First floor - Open plan lounge/dining room with exposed stone wall, log effect electric stove, Freeview/BT TV, DVD, CD radio and spectacular sea views from it's full height patio doors which lead out onto a balcony with outdoor furniture.

Small well equipped kitchen area with electric oven and hob, fridge, small freezer and microwave.


Electricity and night storage heating.  Panel heaters.  Shaver point.  Travel Cot and highchair.  Off road parking.  Shops/PO/pubs/restaurants/TIC in village.  Duvets with linen and towels.  Welcome pack provided.  1 pet welcome @ £20 per week. 

Private Ocean Club membership in Seahouses - Only open to members and not to the general public.  Facilities include pool, children's pool, steam room, sauna, spa, gym, beauty and alternative therapy centre, cafe/bar, private car park, outdoor seating, aqua fit and pilates classes.  Admission charges apply.

Access Statement – Harbourside Cottage



Harbourside is a stone built terraced cottage situated on Harbour Road overlooking Seahouses harbour.


Pre Arrival

  • The nearest bus stop is in the main street (300m)
  • The nearest railway station is Chathill (4 miles) or Alnmouth (14 miles)
  • Nearest RADAR toilet is main Seahouses carpark (320m)


Arrival and car parking facilities

Off road parking is available right outside the cottage and is on a slight slope


Main entrance and reception

  • The front door is situated on Harbour Road
  • The key is held in a key safe to the left-hand side of the front door
  • There are 2 steps up from the road (d:25cm and h:15cm).
  • There is a handrail
  • The front door is 76cm wide and hinged on the right. There is an 8cm thresh
  • The front door opens into a hallway. The light switches are situated to the left-hand side
  • The stairs are straight ahead leading up to the lounge, dining area and kitchen on the first floor
  • The bedrooms and bathroom are situated on the ground floor


Hall, stairs, landing, corridors etc

  • There are 14 steps (19cm high and 20cm deep) leading to the first floor with a handrail on right hand side
  • The hallway to the bedrooms and bathroom is 80cm wide


Lounge and dining area

  • Stairs lead to the first floor which is an open plan lounge, diner and kitchen. Double patio doors (each 71cm wide opening inwards with a 11cm thresh) onto decked balcony
  • There is a stair gate available at the top of the stairs
  • There is a table with 4 chairs, 2 more chairs are available in the bunk bedroom
  • The lounge area has 3 seater and 2 seater comfy sofas with extra cushions. There is also a fabric directors chair
  • There are wall lights, 2 side lights and a reading lamp
  • There is a freeview TV with BT TV, DVD player and CD/radio. There are DVDs and CDs available for guests
  • Bookshelves to the right of the fireplace provide mixed reading materials



  • There is front loading washer dryer available in the first cupboard in the hallway downstairs (2nd door on the right)
  • There is a drying rack in the same cupboard

We are members of the Seafield Ocean Leisure Club (600m) where there are a range of leisure facilities, swimming pool, gym and beauty treatment rooms.

  • The balcony is 360cm wide and 120cm deep and has railings 111cm high
  • There are patio chairs and table available for guests to use

Most enjoyable stay! Made to feel very welcome, most enjoyable stay.

Had a lovely week. Weather good. Cottage very good, has everything you need. Could not wish for a better view. Nice to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. Very lucky to see dolphins on a boat trip to the Farne Islands!

Wow perfection in every way! Cottage has everything you could want. Thank you for all the goodies too, a very nice touch. Loved Seahouses and surrounding areas, will be back. Weather good as well.

Great location and view. Holy Island is an absolute must. Well worth a stroll up to the top of the cill around the headland.
