Cullercoats is located in a designated conservation area. It is a small village on a sandy bay enclosed by 2 piers and backed by cliffs. It has long been associated with fishing, and local fishermen still launch their boats from the south of the beach. The sandy beach is the perfect environment for children to play. Newcastle, with a wide variety of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes can easily be reached by car or public transport. Kayak shop close by for hiring kayaks, paddle boards and bikes. Whitley Bay and Tynemouth are both a short walk away.
