Rainbow Cottage is situated in Low Hauxley which was originally a small fishing village nestled in the dunes above the beautiful and very quiet sandy beach of Hauxley Haven. The cottage has been transformed into a light airy holiday home with a contemporary feel. For those seeking a restful seaside holiday the location of the cottage is perfect as the beach is approximately 80 metres away. Hauxley Haven lies at the northern end of Druridge Bay. These golden sands are ideal for walkers, dog owners and absolutely ideal for families, as the beach is rarely busy and sometimes can even be deserted. Just south of the village is Hauxley bird reserve with its ponds and hides. From here a large variety of birds and wild fowl can be observed and photographed. Coquet Island the RSPB Reserve lies just off the northern end of Hauxley Haven and is home to Eider Ducks, Puffins, the Roseate Tern and grey seals. These can be observed by a local boat service which operates from Amble Harbour and runs trips around the island. A trip well worth taking! Low Hauxley is an ideal base for exploring historic and beautiful Northumberland. It is close to a range of outdoor activities such as walking, bird watching river and sea fishing, boating, golfing, cycling and horse riding.
