Hilltop Barn provides a welcoming rural retreat 7 miles from the picturesque village of Corbridge and the market town of Hexham. Surrounded by its own cottage garden this stone built barn conversion, adjoining the owner's house, provides a cosy location in which to relax. Set in wooded countryside where beautiful walks can start from the door.  Local places of interest include Beamish Open Air Museum, Slaley Hall Hotel and Spa, with 2 championship golf courses is 2 miles away, a number of historic National Trust properties including Wallington Hall, Cragside and Gibside, and of course, Hadrian's Wall. Close by are the remains of the Roman town of Corstopitum and within 15 miles along Hadrian's Wall are the forts of Chester's, Housesteads and Vindolanda. Hexham famous for its mediaeval 7th Century Abbey, offers excellent amenities with a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants and a theatre. On the outskirts of Hexham is the highest National Hunt racecourse in England.  Alnwick Castle and Gardens and Kielder Water with it's dark sky project are easily accessible by car.  Durham cathedral and Newcastle are about 30 minutes away.  Walking, sailing, fishing and horse riding all available nearby.

Charcoal barbecue.  Paddock.  Off road parking.  Storage shed.  Sorry no cot or highchair.  Shop/PO/pubs/restaurants 1.5 miles.  Duvet with linen and towels.  Pets welcome @ £15 per pet per week.


This is the second time we have visited this cottage. On both occasions we found the owners really helpful and welcoming. The gardens were all lovely and it was wonderful because they were all secure. I would recommend this as a place to stay.
