This delightful cottage has been skilfully created from a former 19th century granary and enjoys splendid views along the Coquet Valley. The accommodation occupies the whole of the ground floor of the owner's home.  Nestling in the picturesque village of Alwinton, it stands amongst some of the most outstandingly beautiful and unspoilt countryside in Northumberland. The area is a paradise for the hill walker, angler and mountain biker or for those just wanting to enjoy the peace and seclusion of the countryside. Situated within the Northumberland National Park, Stonecrop is well placed for travelling to Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water and the spectacular Heritage coast. Shop: 10 miles. Pub: 0.1 miles.

The attractive market town of Rothbury is 10 miles and just beyond this is Cragside, now owned by the National Trust. This magnificent house and country park, formerly home of Lord Armstrong, industrialist and entrepreneur, was the first property in the country to be lit by hydroelectricity. Now owned by the National Trust this Victorian creation is a cross between an English manor house and a Bavarian Schloss.

Notes: Although there is no mobile service, there is a phone box in the village and The Rose and Thistle pub is a 2 minute walk away which has WiFi access also. The Star Inn, in Harbottle is a 5 minute drive away and includes a shop for essential gifts. Electric car charging point in village.
