Cuckoo Cottage is a romantic retreat with panoramic views over an 1,800 acre working sheep farm in the beautiful Ingram Valley. This newly renovated barn conversion is situated in an area designated as a dark sky discovery site, making it the ideal location for those wishing to escape the stresses of modern life. Shop: 7 miles Pub: 8 miles

Lounge attractively furnished with comfortable seating, wall mounted TV with Freeview, log burning stove, coffee table and dining table.

Kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.

Shower room with shower cubicle, washbasin and WC.

First floor:

Bedroom with double bed, hanging space, bedside cabinets and lamps

The Ingram Valley is full of wildlife. You may encounter grouse, pheasants, deer and red squirrels while exploring the open space. There are plenty of walks for all abilities straight from the front door and it is a great location for mountain biking. Just 2 miles walk across the fells is Linhope Spout, an impressive waterfall. There is a shop in the village of Powburn, and pubs, cafes and shops in nearby Wooler.

  • The nearest bus stop is on the A697 at the Roseden road end (see map). Not marked but wait on road side.
  • The nearest train station is Berwick-Upon-Tweed or Alnmouth, both approx. 20 miles away.
  • The nearest food shops are in Wooler (10 miles by road, 8ish on foot / bike) or Powburn (6 miles).
  • The nearest pubs are in Wooler.
  • The nearest fuel stations are Wooler (9 miles) or Powburn (6 miles).
  • Mobility equipment hire – Not known.

A cozy cottage in a fantastic location. We received a very warm welcome from the host which was really appreciated. There are lots of great walks from the doorstep and a short drive away. Highly recommend it as a comfortable place to stay in beautiful surroundings.
