Description

Broadmea Barn is a stunning barn conversion situated in the beautiful unspoilt South Tyne Valley on the Cumbria/Northumberland border. Broadmea is perfectly situated as a touring base for exploring a wealth of natural and historical treasurers in this area. The cottage has been skilfully refurbished to a high standard, retaining charm and character offering a mix of traditional structure and contemporary design. It is situated just across the courtyard from the owner's Farm house and 1800 acre working sheep farm.

The Barn has a fantastic open plan layout on several different levels with natural stone, beamed vaulted ceiling and split mezzanine levels providing a beautifully spacious environment in which to unwind.  After an invigorating hike on the moors the sauna is ideal to lie back and relax your tired muscles. Shop: 5 miles. Pub: 1.5 mile.

Ground floor:
Large entrance hall.

Sauna room with shower and WC.

Second floor:
Stairs to split mezzanine with two galleried sitting areas which overlook the dining area below, TV with Freesat/DVD, Wi-Fi, CD player and Bluetooth speaker.

Garden: Shared garden to front with patio furniture, barbecue. A stream runs along the garden on the other side of small fence.

Parking: Off road parking.

Pets: 1 well behaved pet welcome @ £35 per stay up to a week.

Hadrian's Wall is only 8 miles away to visit the world heritage sites of Housesteads, Vindolanda, Birdoswald and Chesters dotted along this historic wall. The market town of Alston (5 miles) offers an interesting array of cafes, shops, restaurants and an 18 hole golf course. Enjoy a journey on a steam train right from Slaggyford village through the beautiful South Tyne Valley to Alston. Trout and salmon fishing can be enjoyed on a private stretch of river running through the farm. The Lake District, Scottish Borders, Newcastle upon Tyne with its vibrant Quayside and Metro Centre, Gateshead are all easily accessible by car.
