"Another lovely stay at The Old Vicarage, it's great to have space to gather together but also seperate. A lovely base to travel from to enjoy the area."

The Smith Family - Apr 2018

"Another lovely stay at The Old Vicarage. Very relaxing and we really appreciated the space and the peace and quiet. Spent most of the time walking on the beaches and visiting the pubs along the way and we were so lucky with the weather as every walk was in the dry. Our border terrier also loved the beaches especially Budle Bay. This is our third visit to Northumberland and our second visit in the last 12 months and we will certainly be back soon. It is fast becoming our favourite part of the UK! "

Keith and Brenda - Feb 2018

"What a wonderful week we have had in this amazing property! Very well equipped and extremely comfortable beds. Such a short walk to the beach, we have walked for miles. The weather has been lovely. We had a delightful meal at the Craster Arms in the village - which was pet friendly. Loved the extra touches, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk waiting for us. Taking home two very tired collies! Hope to be back! ps, we had a pianist with us so had some wonderful recitals! pps, thanks for the doggie welcome packs, woof! "

The Broughton Family - Oct 2017

"Perfect house, beautiful location, a week of sun was a welcome bonus. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Hope to be back next year. Ali. This is a perfect location! I've enjoyed finding out about the history of this house and the two people in the paintings in the living room. The house has real character and was a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you. Clare. I echo the sentiments of Ali and Clare. We have had a wonderfully active and, at times, restful week in our beloved Northumberland, based in this atmospheric Old Vicarage. We hope to return... Colin. Had a wonderful time at the Old Vicarage, especially after researching the history of the house and the previous residents. I have left a brief snapshot of their lives in a file, here in the house. I hope you enjoy reading about the Vicars/Reverends and their family. Jenny. ps, I hope to research John Wood and Ann Craster (paintings in the living room) when I return home! "

The Turner Family - Sep 2017

"Lovely stay over Christmas. The walk South is lovely - go through Beadnell and the caravan park and walk South on the beach. We did this with a mean gale force wind but clean skies and sand blowing down the beach. The outflow of the Nanny Burn is a wonderful combination of sandbanks, river and hundreds of birds. Along the coast we saw Redshank, Grey Plover, Turnstone and Sandlings. The Nanny Bridge is beautiful - a simple, wooden railed bridge which is quite straight and gives patterns of shadows from the low winter sun. Two more miles South to the lovely Ship Inn - crowded but we could eat outside due to the weather. Back to Beadnell Towers where they have a friendly atmosphere and Football Channels. The Murray-Rust family congregated at Beadnell from a diversity of places including Edinburgh, Cambridge and Melborne (Australia). It really couldn't have been better! From my point of view, the weather was amazing, with opportunities to photograph the magic Northumbrian coast that might not have been expected at this time of year. The high winds from Storm Barbara combined with the low winter sun created some special efects. Very rewarding. "

    The Murray-Rust Family - Dec 2016

"Enjoyed a lovely stay in this fantastic house! It was a great location and everything was very handy. We had all that we needed in the house and would love to come back again sometime. It was a fab place to stay. Thank you."

The Quinns and Bennetts - Aug 2016

"We have had a wonderful stay in this welcoming house. Weather we couldn't have dreamed of! Loved getting up to the warm kitchen and watching the hares in the garden and field. The area is truly beautiful and we explored the coast and inland. We enjoyed coming back here and then walking to 2 dog-friendly pubs. We have decided that reports of very bad weather here are only to keep people away so that it remains a special place, ha ha!"

Rayburn Family, Milton Keynes - Aug 2015

"Had a wonderful time in Northumberland. The house is beautiful - plenty of space for us all. The area is full of things to do - I don't think one visit is quite enough. All in all a wonderful house, a wonderful place and a truly wonderful holiday!"

The Foreman family - Aug 2015

"What a lovely place, so enjoyed our stay here. Fabulous comfy house. Lots of space, well maintained. Loads of great things to do in this area. We have had a fab week, the beaches are to die for! Particularly dog-friendly part of the world. Enjoyed cooking on an Aga."

The Pepper party, Bolton - Jun 2015

    The White's - Aug 2014

"Had a wonderful time in spite of getting tail end of hurricane "Bertha". House beautiful and well appointed. Prompt response from Stay Northumbria when we suddenly found no water coming from all the taps. Beach walking superb at low tide at Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. Look forward to returning."

    The Jacksons & Shipps - Aug 2014

"An imposing and beautiful house with history oozing throughout every room. Younger members of the party - imaginations running rife as they traversed rooms and imagined possible ghostly inhabitants. I'm sure "George" wasn't impressed! A priviledge to be here. Stay Northumbria prompt to address issues e.g. TV in snug wasn't working, an engineer was sent for immediately. Surrounding area beautiful, tranquil again steeped in history. Thank you."

    Whitings, Howards & Leaning - May 2014

"The house is lovely and we had a very relaxing stay. There are wonderful places to visit & a nice place to come back to & get cosy! The house is beautifully equipped & well situated. We particularly enjoyed being able to have a full New Year Dinner (with all th trimmings) in the gorgeous dining room. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay!"

The Chubbs and Bickrells - Jan 2014

"A GREAT place for our family Christmas. Lovely house, space for everyone. Made cooking and preparing so enjoyable and just a perfect place for the Christmas meal. In spite of (or maybe because of wine) walks on the beach were magical. Everyone (from 6 months to 65) enjoyed our stay. "

The Sewells, Mitchells and Miller - Dec 2013

"Perfect - simply perfect. Third visit - slept, walked on beach - freinds for dinner - Christmas shopping - then relaxing - the house looks after you so very well - never want to leave - Au revoir until 2014. Thank you "Stay Northumbria Team" Happy Christmas & Happy New Year. "

The Pattinson Family - Dec 2013

"We had a truly wonderful time this week at the Vicarage, when we arrived it was warm, lights were on and the house was as welcoming as ever – it was a tearful Tina that departed at 10.00hrs yesterday morning…!! We had super weather, walked on the beach, slept, visited friends and just embraced the welcome and helpfulness of the Northumbrian people – especially last minute Christmas shopping in Seahouses yesterday."
