There are 3 sinks in the communal area. A south facing covered veranda spans the entire length of the property and affords stunning views; an idyllic space to dine alfresco after a day exploring the wild and rugged vistas that surround Tarset Tor.

Set within 5 acres with stunning views and along with Tarset Tor, offering unique high quality Bothy and Bunkhouse accommodation, which has been lovingly created from sustainable sourced cedar, ideal for the gathering of larger groups and extended families. The site also benefits from a small woodland that includes a bar, BBQ area and firepit facilities. There is also a small coarse fishing pond, ideal for children (supervision required at all times).

Employing a sustainable approach to tourism to preserve the beautiful Northumbrian landscape for future generations to enjoy is at the heart of Tarset Tor’s ethos. The dedicated owners have worked hard to keep the carbon footprint to a minimum by using renewable resources and buying locally.

    Rob and Claire

Owners Rob & Claire have lovingly built Tarset Tor to make the most of the wonderful country side whilst impacting as little as possible on the immediate surroundings. This purpose built eco-holiday settlement sits comfortably in its surroundings, providing thoughtfully planned 21st-century accommodation to guests looking to explore this rich and diverse area, delighting backpackers, families and adventure junkies alike.
The timber eco-buildings integrate effortlessly into their natural surroundings, making the most of this remarkable location and providing the perfect base for any outdoor adventure.

Rob and Claire explained to us when we first visited Tarset Tor that they work hard to keep their carbon footprint to a minimum, using renewable resources, buying locally and encouraging the use of greener forms of transport in their everyday lives. " That's why we encourage the sorts of visitors who come here - walkers, cyclists, people who want to enjoy everything this fantastic landscape has to offer, from the babbling brooks, the forest, the moorland, the wide open spaces and of course the Dark Skies. Plus our close proximity, just over an hours drive to the stunning Northumberland beaches and the many castles that adorn the county"
Set within five acres on the fringe of Kielder Forest in the heart of the Northumberland National Park.

?At Tarset Tor, visitors can explore the area on foot and by bike from a base that’s rooted in the countryside.

The Tor has a wetland/pond (with fishing for kids coming soon) and wooded meadow to encourage the proliferation of flora and fauna; here and in the nearby Kielder Forest, you’ll have lots of opportunities to observe the local wildlife, including ospreys, wild goats, red squirrels and deer.

Set in the Gold award winning National Park Dark Sky area, the darkest in Europe and ideal for stargazers. With vistas extending right to the Scottish Borders and the Tyne Valley.

"Brilliant place to go and stay with your family and friends!! Rob and Claire are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation was inviting and warm. Get your fire going on a night and sit and watch the stars!! Great places to visit nearby as well. Had a great time when we visited!! Thank you Rob and Claire! Xx"

"Fantastic Place We booked the whole site for a large group at the end of September and enjoyed a fantastic weekend. The Large Bunkhouse offers very comfortable rooms and ample space for entertaining. The Bothies were quiet and relaxing with stunning views. Rob and Claire were great hosts. I highly recommend this place for groups of any size."
