    Seaton House sits above the beach on the edge of the charming seaside fishing village of Seahouses. The spacious middle of three houses, it is one of only handful of houses that can boast the breath-taking coastal view of the Farne Islands, Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island. This much loved family holiday home has been owned and appreciated by the same family for many years and features a very large, enclosed garden with a south facing summer house. Cross the road in front of the house and you reach the sand dunes and two spectacular miles of sandy beaches. Within a five minute easy walk, you reach Seahouses harbour and village centre with a wide choice of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and tea rooms as well as a well-stocked supermarket and selection of gift shops.

    Here you are perfectly located to visit Northumberland's renowned castles - Bamburgh Castle, one of the most well-known, is just two miles away. Enjoy several local links golf courses and for the fit and active the neighbouring village of Beadnell offers an abundance of water sports.

    Seaton welcomes both children and up to 2 well behaved dogs.

    Seaton welcomes well behaved dogs (up to 2) @ £20 per dog per week or part thereof. When you book you will be asked to provide some information about your pet which will aide the owner in ensuring that the property is set up to welcome them.

    A bit of K9 etiquette should be observed during your stay:-

    • Your pet should not be left in the property unattended (unless crated - crates can be hired - see what can be arranged on the main description tab)
    • Your pet should not be allowed in the bedrooms or on furniture
    • On booking for your pet, you are confirming that it is fully up to date on its flea treatment.

    Note that whilst Seaton is the middle of three properties; it has its own expansive rear private garden which gets sun most of the day, and private gated parking.

    Seaton isn't located within the Dark Skies National Park, however being right on the coast, the Northern Lights are often visable, and the owner's daughter cleverly captured one such occasion, and it is her photograph you will see in the property's photo gallery.

    Walking & Amenities:

    Less than a mile into the centre of Seahouses on foot, and 2.5 to Bamburgh
    • Easy access to Seahouses and all its amenities, from the busy harbour where seating is provided so you can while away the hours watching the toings and froings of harbour life, or stretch your legs on the beautiful beaches which run North and South and are ideal for leisurely walks, or
    • Try the 6 mile return beach walk to Bamburgh, or
    • the 14 mile return journey to Newton by the Sea (great pub awaits for the mid walk break).

    • Bamburgh Castle (2.5 miles north) sits atop rocky outcrop overlooking the beach,
    • 15 miles south Alnwick Castle and Garden a popular spot for those with green fingers, and Harry Potter fans (the castle was Hogwarts and the site of the quiddich pitch in the 1st two films

    Travel and Access information:


    • Alnmouth for Alnwick station is approx 15 miles south - a mainline station on the North East Coastal line with regular stops from London to Edinburgh
    • Berwick upon Tweed approx 25 miles north - a mainline station on the North East Coastal line with regular stops from London to Edinburgh


    • Buses run by Arriva and Travelsure stop in Seahouses itself the X15 and the X18 services run north and south along the coast from Berwick to Newcastle


    • Newcastle International is approx 50 miles south,
    • Edinburgh Airport is approx 90 miles north
    • Both airports have daily internal flights from a number of UK locations, and international flights on a regular basis.
    • Car hire is available from both airports.


    • Seahouses is situated on Sustrans Coast and Castles Route 1 and is a popular stopping point.

Throughout the week we have spent lovely hot days on the beach - crab fishing, sitting/sunbathing and strolling along it, listening to the waves.
