    AND BOOKING

Just a short walk from the centre of Embleton you will find this unusual timber clad "swiss style" chalet, in a quiet cul-de-sac with large enclosed gardens to the front and rear of the property, suitable for children to play within safely (Help Harry the Hedgehog find his friends) suitable game for all the children to play, compliments of the owner.

The cottage built in the early part of the 20th Century is one of only a few remaining with its original exterior timber cladding. Well maintained and refurbished by the current owner, the cottage offers comfortable accommodation for a small family or couples. Ideally suited to 4/6 people, adults or 2/4 & 2 kids the cottage also has a bunk room on the ground floor.

From the cottage it is less than a mile's walk to the unspoilt beach at Embleton and walk north to Low Newton or south along the beach to the National Trust's Dunstanburgh Castle and Craster. After a walk, the golf club at Embleton provides a warm welcome and refreshments or, if you are walking further afield, The Ship Inn at Low Newton has its own micro-brewery and serves food (lobster its speciality) or the Jolly Fisherman in Craster has a lovely eating area overlooking the sea. Don't forget to try the renowned Craster Kippers from Robson's traditional smokehouse in Craster! Also only a short drive away is the market town of Alnwick, home to the Duke of Northumberland, with his Castle and Gardens, both open to the public.

Andrew and co - Jun 2017

"Three generations all ahd a lovely week here. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed to help us enjoy the stay. Visited the normal places, Farne Islands, Lindisfarne, Dunstanburgh Castle,Craster, Embleton Bay & Alnwick Gardens. Could have stayed a few more days but work, school.etc..... Lovely to meet Craig & hear about the area, and loved the jam. The holiday brought back lots of good memories for us all but especially mum who noticed a few changes since some of her visits many years ago....by many we mean more than 50 years ago. Had a lovely, relaxing time and would love to return... We all enjoyed Robson Green's DVD "Tales from Northumberland" Thank you Craig "

Mrs Katherine Longed - May 2017

"We "gentlemanwalkers" have been the first guests in 2017 after Cranage re-opened after the winter shutdown, but we certainly shalln't be the last to enjoy the qualities of this cottage. We mostly sel-catered so appreciated the 'battery' of equipment. Rooms comfortable and convenient - perhaps an electric shaver point in the bathroom? Thank you for your personal attention Craig, and all the stuff you provided. We enjoyed ourselves."

    Peter Lockwood - May 2017

"Lovely comfortable cottage, very well equipped with everything we could need and Craig could not have been more helpful. A wonderful, relaxing week with perfect weather. "
